Participants will learn what FMEA is, where it applies, and a basic example. Students will learn that FMEA is a proactive, systematic process for identifying potential failures in a product, process, or system, determining their causes and consequences, and prioritizing them for mitigation or elimination to prevent them from occurring.

Participants will be introduced to the basics of Value Stream Mapping, including process flow, waste identification, and how VSM can reveal improvement opportunities - giving them the foundational knowledge to recognize where it can be applied.
