with Agnes Aparece

Calendar Jan 23, 2025 at 4 pm, runs for 13 weeks

This is a hybrid class offering, some online & some in person. Pharmacy Technicians must have a broad knowledge of pharmacy practice, and be skilled in the techniques required to order, stock, package, and prepare medications. The one requirement all pharmacy technician duties have in common is a need for absolute accuracy and precision in both the technical and clerical aspects of the job. When working in a pharmacy, pharmacy technicians work under the direction of a licensed pharmacist. Job opportunities abound in both the retail or commercial pharmacy, as well as the hospital or institutional pharmacy.

Local pharmacists will instruct the course. They will use pharmacy-related activities to bring real-world situations to the classroom. For the individual who has never worked in a pharmacy, this course will provide the knowledge and skills in preparation for an entry-level pharmacy technician position. For those who are already working in a pharmacy, the knowledge and experience gained will serve as preparation for Certification.
